Monday was in London, first talking to our Chair, Millie Banarjee, on a range of topics, not least of which was the continued stering efforts to catch up from the snow. It was then off to meet the Department of Health team, again talking snow, with a light dusting of Organ Donation Opt Out. The consultation has just finished and there were 17,000 responses, which is something of a record. The next steps are for the Department of Health to review what they have got and feed the insight into the next stages of designing leglislation over the next few months.

Big thank you to everyone for their great work over the last week or so battling the weather. I have heard countless stories of colleagues who walked into hospitals to support organ donation, picked up people in 4x4s to make sure that there were enough people in to process blood, and work in labs, as well as collection teams who kept sessions open despite terrible conditions.
